Leadership
Our leadership programme is to provide of activities for young Somali people and local young people in Camden to develop their leadership’s skills to prepare them to become future leaders and ambassadors.
Our leadership programme delivers the following activities in order to meet the need of the specification and the participants:
PEER-TO-PEER SUPPORT GROUP: peer-to-peer support sessions led by young people to be supported and resourced, including consultative and youth–led forums.
LEADERSHIP SKILLS WORKSHOPS: to help young people develop leadership skills including: good leadership, conflict resolution, team-building and teamwork, effective communication, project management, marketing and the media, confidence and assertiveness; problem solving and decision–making.
POSITIVE ROLE MODEL SPEAKERS: guest speaker’s sessions will complement the leadership skills workshops through addressing social issues.
RESIDENTIAL LEADERSHIP SKILLS COURSE: Weekend residential course that will facilitate the application of leadership skills.
COMMUNITY ACTION: young people will lead and work on an issue of community need that will enable them to apply their leadership skills to bring about positive change.
VOLUNTEERING PLACEMENTS: placements will be “brokered” to enable participants to further develop and consolidate their leadership skills.
